Wright Angles:  Do You Promote Well?

Many radio stations spend a great deal of time perfecting their presentation of proclamations, but fewer are concentrating on being locally compelling--by talking about things the audience is actually interested in.
 
At some stations, we put all promo material as a stand-alone feature inside of a jingle donut, between two hit songs. This means all other breaks must contain interesting content, directly aimed at communicating with the listener, with no liner cards. What a difference this makes!
 
 

Wright Angles:  How Relevant is Your Station

Google/YouTube is coming out with a new feature called "News Near You." It is their effort to become more relevant on a local level for their consumers.
 
This is something that many radio station are not focusing on, even though they say they are. I suggest that you use this new service to help you stay locally fresh and compelling.
